HFG Dreams Project- (January 2016-December 2017)
HFG implements the DREAMS project in Kisumu County, Kisumu East Sub County –Kajulu Ward. The project is funded by USAID through PATH. DREAMS seek to prevent HIV incidence amongst adolescent girls and young women (AG & YW) aged 10-24 years by 40% in 2 years.
Besides HIV prevention, DREAMS seeks to prevent unintended pregnancies amongst AG & YW. The ultimate goal of the initiative is to help girls develop into Determined, Resilient, and Empowered; AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe (DREAMS) women.
HFG also provides technical assistance to local implementing partners on the implementation of the Shuga Package in Homa Bay and Kisumu counties. HFG has reached over 3,500 AG & YW with comprehensive HIV information and skills using MHMC, FMP and SASA EBIs and linked them to vital services such as HTS and contraceptive method mix messages.
Over 2,000 AG & YW have also been reached through provision of learners’ package, dignity pack, school fees and cash transfer. The project has partnered and collaborates with the following partners.
